Boreel Adam

Boreel Adam, a native of Zeeland, was born about the year 1603, of a distinguished family, and died in the year 1666. His works are

1. To the Law and to the Testimony. 8vo.

2. On the Truth of the Gospel History. The substance of this work is elucidated by Henry More, in the Seventh Book of his "Explanation of the Great Mystery of Godliness," (C. xi.—xiii.,) published in London, A. D. 1674, Fol.

3. The Christian Golden Chain; or the Knowledge of God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Lot. 1677, 4to.; Belg. 1677, 4to.

4. A Treatise on Brotherly Religion, begun in the Presence of Friends at Amsterdam, Sept. 8th, 1664. Belg. MS.

5. A Dutch Version of the Gospel of St. Matthew, and the Epistle of Paul to the Romans. Bock refers to what he has said upon these, and other works of Adam Boreel, in his "History of Dutch Socinianism;" and directs his readers to consult Tentzel's "Colloquia Menstrua, 1693," p. 261, seqq.

6. Numerous Manuscripts. Some of these fell into the hands of Galen Abrahamz, the celebrated Mennonite Preacher at Amsterdam.
